Here is the statement for my next venture:

e.mer.gence

“The process of coming into view or becoming exposed after being concealed”

This group of graduate artists have been brought together for their common thematic thread; the visual documentation of different environments past and present, as well as those purely formed in the imagination. Creating an experiential journey transcending both time and place, they have mapped a world of locations through film, painting, photography and the re-appropriation found historical items.

Collectively they create a visual landscape for the viewer to explore within the gallery space, we ask you to journey through these different environments question their atmosphere, effect and ponder their reality.

These graduates embark on their professional creative careers in uncertain economic times, emerging among student riots and rising youth unemployment. We hope to lead you on a gentler journey, a sensory story that hopes to provide an insight into the years of study that these students have just completed.

The work of Fine Art students is often a world hidden behind university doors, exhibited for short periods of time and viewed by few; consequently we are proud and delighted to present this glimpse behind the studio door, an insight into contemporary graduate work.
